Shivani Kabra

Shivani Kabra is a Master of Advanced Management candidate at the Yale School of Management. She brings experience in applied, community-engaged research, with a focus on qualitative analysis, data synthesis, and translating research insights into accessible, public-facing outputs. Previously, Shivani worked with the Yale Center for Consumer Insights, where she applied behavioral science and data-driven methods to uncover unmet needs and inform strategic decision-making for HP Inc.’s marketing leadership. She is particularly interested in bridging rigorous research with real-world impact by designing insights that support inclusive economic growth and community planning.
Project Work Description: At IEDL, Shivani supports a qualitative research project focused on understanding the systemic barriers and enabling conditions affecting the growth of Black-owned and Black-led businesses. Her work includes conducting and coding qualitative interviews, desk research, data tidying, and qualitative analysis using NVivo, as well as developing data visualizations and contributing to a public-facing research report and presentation deck. The project is designed to translate community-informed insights into actionable frameworks and tools that support equitable investment, institutional accountability, and long-term community prosperity, with findings disseminated through community-facing events and stakeholder engagements.
